How It Works

In a typical configuration shown above, agricultural effluent leaving growing areas is collected into sumps.  The sump pump moves the water into the pre-treatment or supply tank.  Our transfer/supply pump, in the system skid,  pumps water from the pre-treatment tank into the bioreactor tanks.  Water exits the top of the bioreactor and flows into a post-treatment tank. Water then flows from the post-treatment tank,  nitrate removed, into your existing drainage system.

An external carbon source is metered from the carbon supply tank and mixed with water prior to injection into the bioreactor(s).

The bacteria inside the bioreactor convert the nitrate into nitrogen (gas) and carbon dioxide.  These gases leave via vents on top of the bioreactor.
